Stephen S. Poloz served as the 9th Governor of the Bank of Canada from June 3, 2013, to June 2, 2020.

Sylvie Bernier

Journalist and athlete

Sylvie Bernier made history by winning a gold medal at the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1984. She became the first Quebec athlete to win gold at the Olympic Games and she remains, to this day, the only Canadian to win Olympic gold in diving. This exceptional performance revealed to us a fiery, passionate and determined woman.

François Lambert

Entrepreneur, Farmer, Author and Speaker

A successful entrepreneur, François Lambert co-founded Atelka, the largest call center in Canada, as well as Aheeva, a technology company present in 75 countries. He has invested in more than a dozen companies in his career.

Known to the public for his remarkable participation on Radio-Canada’s show Dans l’oeil du dragon (the French version of Dragon’s Den), François Lambert is also the author of two books on entrepreneurship.

Wanda K. Deschamps

Champion for Inclusion

Wanda is the founder and principal of Liberty Co – a consultancy focused on increasing neurodiverse employment with a special emphasis on autism due to her own diagnosis at midlife.

A champion for inclusion, she enjoys speaking and writing under the banner of the Inclusion Revolution, a worldwide movement launched in 2018 to spearhead broader thinking about disability, especially disability employment. As part of this, Wanda is a proud advocate for women with autism, including as an advisor and participant in research into autistic women’s experiences in the workplace.

Kami Ramcharan

Strategic Advisor, former CFO

While Kami Ramcharan has retired from the publicservice with over 35 years of experience, she continues toconsult within the federal public service and providesupport to various organizations. She is a Certified PublicAccountant (CPA, CMA) and she has her Masters,Business Administration from the University of Ottawa.

Within the public service, she had a very diversecareer and as a seasoned senior executive with over20 years’ experience, transformed manyorganizations. Although she concluded her career as aChief Financial Officer, Canada Revenue Agency, she has held the position of CFO forboth the Privy Council Office and Natural Resources Canada. In those senior roles,her responsibilities included other corporate services such as Human Resources,Information management, Information Technology, Facilities, Real Property, Securityand Strategic Planning.

Before becoming a CFO, she also held substantive roles in program and policy areas.She has over 15 years developing policy, delivering programs and negotiating withcommunity groups, provinces, territories and Indigenous organizations. She has ledsignificant initiatives related to financial sustainability, organizational transformation,operational excellence, project and program leadership and human resourcemanagement.

During her career, she had the opportunity to live and work regionally in many differentprovinces, including working in the Northwest Territories and she had the opportunity towork in many different departments.

Since her retirement, she has started her next chapter as a consultant, providing strategicadvice to CFOs, and other executives supporting departments in organizational/financialreviews, human resources and supporting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She has alsodeveloped and delivered training, and she continues to coach and mentor people to helpthem achieve success in their careers. She is a member of a Departmental AdvisoryCommittee and supports charitable and not-for-profit organizations.

Rodrigo Rosales-List

Senior executive and intrapreneur

Rodrigo Rosales-List is a senior executive in the Canadian federal public service, but more importantly, an intrapreneur who has transformed departments into dynamic ecosystems, reflecting the spirit of modern startups.

From the founding of Public Safety Canada to leading digital transformation and AI
adoption at Indigenous Services Canada, his journey demonstrates how an intrapreneur can successfully drive innovative projects within the federal public service. Rod (as his friends call him) is passionate about good management practices and has a broad range of experiences, including strategic policy, risk management, human resources, finance, and information technology.

He is passionate about artificial intelligence and committed to helping Canadians embed sound and ethical AI practices. He has been at the forefront of AI literacy in
government, having taught hundreds of public servants how to use AI tools effectively and responsibly.

Outside of work, Rodrigo is the father of two wonderful children, an 11-year-old son and a 8-year-old daughter. A car enthusiast, he shares his adventures with new cars
on his blog, and also enjoys long-distance running, skiing, and mountain biking with his family.

Alain P. Seguin

Retired Assistant Comptroller General

Alain P. Seguin retired in August 2018 after more than 32 years in the federal public service. At his retirement, Alain was with the Office of the Comptroller General as Assistant Comptroller General, Financial Management Transformation. Prior to joining the Office of the Comptroller General, Alain was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Employment and Social Development Canada and was previously the CFO of the RCMP and the Assistant Chief Statistician Management Services with Statistics Canada. He has also held senior level executive positions at Natural Resources Canada, Western Economic Diversification and the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada. Throughout his career, Alain contributed significantly to the professionalization of the federal public service’s Financial Management
community. Alain holds a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA and is a CPA. Alain currently provides senior
executive management consulting services.

Dean Dubois

Director, Financial Systems and Training

Dean Dubois leads the Financial Systems and Training Team at Indigenous Services
Canada. His sector manages the development, operation, and training of seven corporate financial systems supporting more than 25,000 users. His team also hosts four other federal departments on one of these systems and continues to
expand this shared service capacity.

Dean is driving the department’s digital transformation by leveraging technology,
advanced analytics, and a positive workplace culture to attract and retain top
talent.

Previously, he founded and directed the Synergy In Action Directorate, created to advance digital transformation and organizational change in response to emerging
issues, ministerial priorities, and service excellence goals. Under his leadership, the
team developed the federal COVID-19 coordination and reporting systems and the
Jordan’s Principle service delivery model.

With 34 years of federal experience spanning management, operations, and technology, Dean combines strategic insight with a passion for process
improvement and public sector performance. A certified Master Coach since 2001, he has received multiple Deputy Minister awards for innovation and creativity.

Dean enjoys family time with his wife and three daughters, beach vacations, and
entertaining friends. An avid and competitive pickleball player, he would play every
day if he could.

Mark Pelman

Former Chief Financial Officer

Over his career, Mark Perlman has spent close to 34 years (over 12 of which were at the Assistant Deputy Minister level, with close to 20 years as an executive) in progressively
responsible positions in small, medium and large federal departments, working at the district, regional and headquarters levels. These departments included Employment and
Social Development Canada, the Canada Revenue Agency, Public Safety, Public Works
and Government Services Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and the Immigration and Refugee Board in the areas of Finance, Administration, Human Resources, Security, Real Property, Internal Audit, Communications, Shared Services, Policy, Information Technology and Information
Management.

Up until his retirement from the public service in September 2021, Mark held the position of Chief Financial Officer and Senior Assistant Deputy Minister at Employment and Social Development Canada for 5 years. In this capacity, he was responsible for all aspects of financial management and stewardship with an annual expenditure base that grew to over $258B in fiscal year 2020-21 due to the pandemic response for the ESDC portfolio. He was
also responsible for real property and accommodations, procurement and asset
management, enterprise project management governance, and financial systems.

Since his retirement from the public service, on top of thoroughly enjoying retirement, Mark has continued coaching and mentoring others, helped facilitate the Action Learning sets as part of the Next Generation CFO and DCFO programs, and is currently serving as a
Departmental Audit Committee (DAC) member for two departments, namely Public Services and Procurement Canada (Chair) and the Department of Finance (Member).
Mark has a bachelor’s degree from McMaster University and is a Chartered Professional
Accountant (CPA, CMA).

He is married and has one son and one daughter.

Hassan Yussuff

The Honourable, Senator

Hassan Yussuff was appointed to the Senate of Canada to represent Ontario in June 2021 and sits as a member of the Independent Senators Group.

Senator Yussuff is one of Canada’s most experienced labour leaders. He served two terms as President of the Canadian Labour Congress from 2014-2021, becoming the first person of colour to lead Canada’s labour movement. He also served two terms as President of the Trade Union Confederation of the Americas, an organization uniting 48 national organizations and representing more than 55 million workers in 21 countries.

Senator Yussuff has participated in numerous task forces and organizations, including the Government of Canada’s NAFTA Council and its Sustainable Development Advisory Council. He currently serves as a member of the Prime Minister’s Council on Canada-U.S. Relations.

Senator Yussuff is the Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on National Security, Defence and Veterans Affairs and a member of the Committee on Banking, Trade and Commerce, as well as the Committee on Rules, Procedures and the Rights of Parliament.
